1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LegalEase (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.
LegalEase is operated by its founders as an educational incorporation assistant. These terms govern your use of the platform, including all features, content, and services provided.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use LegalEase. By using the Platform, you represent that you are of legal age and have the capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
3. Account Responsibilities
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account with others and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. LegalEase is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use LegalEase only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the Platform for commercial use
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or harvest data from LegalEase
- Interfere with the proper operation of the Platform or its servers
- Use the Platform to engage in any illegal activity
5. Intellectual Property
All content on LegalEase, including but not limited to text, guides, workflows, design, and code, is the intellectual property of LegalEase and its operators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.
Content you submit (e.g. business information you enter for your filing) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant LegalEase a limited license to use it to provide the service.
6. No Legal Advice
LegalEase is not a law firm. Nothing on this Platform constitutes legal advice, legal representation, or the creation of a lawyer-client relationship. LegalEase provides educational information and document preparation assistance only.
For complex legal, tax, securities, immigration, or cross-border matters, you should consult a qualified lawyer or accountant. LegalEase will indicate within the flow when professional advice is recommended.
7. Government Fees and Third-Party Costs
Government filing fees are separate from any LegalEase fee and are paid directly to the relevant government authority. During beta, LegalEase charges no platform fee.
Government fees disclosed in the Platform are estimates based on currently published rates and may change without notice. LegalEase is not responsible for fee changes made by government authorities after publication.
8. Limitation of Liability
LegalEase is provided "as is" during beta. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LegalEase and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
- Use or inability to use the Platform
- Filing outcomes, rejected filings, or government decisions
- Missed deadlines or compliance failures
- Changes in government fees or regulatory requirements
- Errors in information provided by users
9. Modifications
LegalEase reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
