1. What Data We Collect
When you use LegalEase, we may collect the following types of information:
- Email address — provided when you create an account, submit a contact form, or sign up for beta access
- Jurisdiction interest — which incorporation path (Ontario, federal Canada, U.S. LLC) you're exploring
- Guided answers — responses to questions in the incorporation flow (business location, founder count, funding plans, etc.)
- Business information — entity name, address, director/member details, and other filing-related information you enter
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the Platform (used for product improvement)
- Feedback — structured feedback submitted as part of the beta program
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the guided incorporation assistant service
- Save your progress and allow you to resume your filing flow
- Generate filing-ready documents and information packages
- Send beta access updates and relevant product communications (you may unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve the Platform based on usage patterns and beta feedback
- Respond to your inquiries via the Contact form
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
3. How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored securely using cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We retain account data for as long as you have an active account. Beta feedback and anonymized usage data may be retained for product improvement purposes after account deletion.
Sensitive information (such as EIN-related data or SIN numbers) is handled with additional care. We do not store complete government identification numbers.
4. Third-Party Processors
LegalEase uses third-party services to operate the Platform. These processors may have access to your data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations. Current categories of processors include:
- Cloud infrastructure and database providers
- Email delivery services (for transactional emails)
- Analytics tools (anonymized usage data)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
5. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Export — request a portable copy of your data in a common format

LegalEase is operated from Ontario, Canada. We intend to comply with applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPEDA (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). For users in the European Union, we acknowledge GDPR-related obligations and will work to accommodate requests under those rights.
7. Cookies and Tracking
LegalEase may use session cookies and local storage to maintain your signed-in state and preserve flow progress. We use anonymized analytics tools to understand how the Platform is used. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site behavioural profiling.
